(2) Born in Templelyon - name of an area on the road between Jack White’s Cross and Redcross, Co. Wicklow. Made his First Holy Communion Xmas Day 1890. Went as deep sea sailor for many years - lived early part of married life in Queen’s Square, Dublin - moved to Liverpool with family in May 1910 - taking up job as Dockgateman on Garston Docks, where he worked until retirement in 1956. His one address all that time was 231 St. Mary’s Road, Grassendale, Liverpool 19. His last days I believe were spent as a very Holy man & now he’s buried in the churchyard with Mary Catherine & two of his sons; John and William Joseph.

When a place of residence is listed on my dad's files, for example as Mount Nebo, do you think that this was the actual house they lived in? Or was it simply in the townland? If it Is those houses listed, then the Hollingsworths had a fairly good slice of County Wexford.

Wow! At this point I'm just amazed at the dedication of my father. Two hundred and forty one entries so far! A lot of the information came from Henry Hollingsworth, but just about all of it has been originally found or corroborated by the footwork of my father - whether it was checking records in the Custom House in Dublin, registers in various parishes or deciphering headstones which were sometimes in a disheveled(!) state.

I remember two in particular. The first was when we were going to an isolated cemetery at the top of a hill in the countryside. I can't remember where exactly it was (I was too young) nut do remember that we walked across a railway line, and past a farmhouse where we were chased by a flock of guard geese. The second was moving two great six-foot stones which were lying face down in Ballycanew. More about that later.
