Hello Bob,
I am a descendant of the FREE family of Counties Wicklow/Wexford and have in the past had some contact with Wally McMahon.The last email I wrote was returned unknown so I hope he has not died.
Anyway I am contacting you because when I was searching for Frees mentioned in manuscripts belonging to the Marquess of Ormonde I noticed a reference to a certain Francis Hollinsworth which I thought may interest you or some others among the Hollingsworth researchers.
This appeared on page 116 of the manuscript under Lord Lambert (actually found on page 178 of 1212)
seventh line down under X111-1644 April 26. I attach the link below:

The Hist.Mss.Commission,14th Report,Appendix,part 7,Vol.1,page 177(Part I)"The Earl of Strafford's Company of soldiers mustered in April,1644 in Dublin,mentions the names of Stratford's men include John Free and Nicholas Free".
Am I correct in assuming there is some connection between the Hollingsworth and Furney family the mother of whom was a Margarita Free dau of William Free of Carnew>
