There are possibly about a thousand files, arranged alphabetically and by location. Where do I start? With Wicklow, in deference to my father? With northern Ireland, in deference to my American Val(l)entine cousins. Or with Wexford with thanks to cousin Tom for reawakening my interest?
The decision is made easy because the first name in Wexford is Abraham. So that seems a good place to start.

So, we're only at Abraham and already an anomaly. Much of the information on these cards has been written in different pen and sometime in different hand (my mother) indicating that information was written at different times as it was gathered. Some of the information has a 'tick' or two beside it indicating some form of double-checking. Where source or references are there, I'll give them.
